Project Description
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
This 30-year-old Polished Mahogany sideboard was in need of a re-vamp, my client decided to go for a modern look, and a grey colour which seems to be the in colour for 2020, leaving the top polished.
she picked out, Plummett 272 from the farrow and ball range. The process was to tape up the door and draw handles, as they were glued on, lightly sand down the sideboard, clean off any debris and dust, then apply a primer coat. This was followed by two oil-based undercoats and finally the application of one coat of oil-based eggshell finish.
The best part of any restorative work like this, where there is a complete transformation, is when you get to remove the masking tapes.
When I returned the sideboard to my client, her comments were ‘WOW – it looks gorgeous’. One very happy customer and I now have some new furniture to paint from her daughter.
